Chrysochromulina tobin CCMP291

Chrysochromulina tobin is a small (4 μm) unicellular alga is naturally wall-less, being delineated solely by a plasma membrane. It lacks scales or additional extracellular structures. Chrysochromulina tobin is a haptophyte and lives in fresh to brackish water. C. tobin is also mixotrophic using a long haptonema to hunt bacterial prey.
