The genus Diplogelasinospora was formerly placed inside the family Sordariaceae, but has recently been relocated into Diplogelasinosporaceae (1). Species of this genus are characterized by two-celled ascospores and the presence of an asexual morph producing arthroconidia (2,3). The chemical industry has a special interest in Diplogelasinospora grovesii as a biocatalyst and as a provider of pharmaceutical compounds (4,5). Strain CBS 340.73 was isolated from a soil sample from a beet field in the Hokkaido island, Japan.
