The genome sequence and gene prediction of Humicola hyalothermophila CBS 45480 have not been determined by the Joint Genome Institute (JGI), but were downloaded from CSFG on July 31, 2022. In order to allow comparative analyses with other fungal genomes sequenced by the JGI, a copy of this genome is incorporated into Mycocosm. Please note that this copy of the genome is not automatically updated. JGI tools were used to automatically annotate predicted proteins.

Humicola hyalothermophila is a thermotolerant fungus belonging to the family Chaetomiaceae, it can grow up to 50 °C and optimum temperature of 34-37 °C (1). Several secondary metabolites and thermophilic enzymes with lignocellulolytic potential have been identified in other species from the genus Humicola (2). The genome of H. hyalothermophila is expected to provide insight into a variety of secondary metabolite pathways and enzymes with potential industrial applications.
