Status
v.1.0 (November 2007): The assembly release version 1.0 of whole genome shotgun reads was constructed with the Arachne assembler using paired end sequencing reads at a coverage of ~6.79X. After trimming for vector and quality, this genome assembled into 462 main genome scaffolds totaling 101.1 MB. Roughly half of the genome is contained in 27 scaffolds all at least 1.1 Mbp in length. This is a moderately polymorphic genome and, as such, has popped off segments from alternative haplotypes and repetitive regions that end up as small scaffolds.
The current draft release, version 1.0, includes a total of 16,694 gene models predicted and functionally annotated using the JGI annotation
