The genome sequence and gene models of Micractinium conductrix SAG 241.80 have not been determined by the JGI, but were downloaded from NCBI on October 13, 2019. In order to allow comparative analyses with other algal genomes sequenced by the JGI, a copy of this genome is incorporated into PhycoCosm. JGI tools were used to automatically annotate predicted proteins. Please note that this copy of the genome is not maintained by NCBI and is therefore not automatically updated.
The following text is modified from NCBI Bioproject https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/PRJNA290385:
Micractinium conductrix SAG 241.80 is a single-cell green alga. It produces a large amount of sugar at a lower pH environment, but the function is turned off with the increase of pH level. This organism represents a category of industrial important species, and a detailed study of genetic pathways involved in the sugar-producing process will help to improve people's daily life.
